RSS Mixer all feeds lead to one

With RSS Mixer all feeds lead to one
Life without feeds would be one of sifting through thousands of endless stories and visiting website after website for content. Thanks to RSS, our lives have been ever so simplified.

OPML has been the typical approach to combining all RSS feeds into a single file that can be exported and imported into any feed reader. Then along comes RSS Mixer. This online tool lets users combine all favorite feeds into one. The drawback to using this is that you cannot simply upload an OPML file, you have to add multiple feeds. But if you have a few feeds that you wanted to follow no matter where you are, like via a mobile device like an iPhone or a widget embedded in your iGoogle homepage, this is a cool way to go. Users start off by giving a title to their 'Mix', then adding feed URL's into the Mix. When RSS Mixer is complete, users get the option to link to the mix, create an Apple Dashboard widget, create a Web Widget, get an RSS feed for the combined feeds, and launch an iPhone version of the mix.

It's a pretty impressive way to easily mix up RSS feeds, and stay on top of them no matter where you are. Our only wish, give us the chance to upload an OPML file.

Feedburner Comes to Blogger.

fblogger.PNG

It was inevitable really: Feedburner’s new owner Google has gone ahead and integrated the feed tracking service into its Blogspot/Blogger.com blog platform, enabling one click redirection of Blogger feeds to Feedburner.

In other words: if you want detailed stats on who is reading your Blogger blog, it’s now easy to do. The integration also works with blogger blogs not hosted on the Blogspot domain. Feedburner’s instructions: “log into your Blogger account, select Settings | Site Feed, enter your FeedBurner feed address and click “Save Settings.”

What we’re interested to see: will Feedburner ever be integrated into Google Analytics, creating a comprehensive stats package for blogs and news sites?

# Postli allows bloggers and website owners to replace list of buttons useful to post to social sites similar to the following:

* old style list of buttons
* with a single link that allows to post to every major social site like this
*
post

  • # How many buttons can you add next to every post in your blog? 3, 5, 10, 100?

    * few buttons = unsatified users using not included services.
    * too many buttons = a mess.
    * a single postli button = every user happy, clean site.

    # Postli remembers recently used services for every user putting them on the top of the list.
    # Postli detects the user language putting localized services on the top of the list.
    # Postli does not require registration being based just on cookies.
    # Postli includes a light bookmark so that users can save sites to post them later.
  • Feed Readers with a Social Bookmarking Twist

Combine a feed reader/aggregator with social bookmarking, add more features, and you will end up with Feedest. Feedest intelligently learns what readers prefer, making constant adjustments to the ways of presenting the content provided by thousands of sources.

The variety of feed topics is so vast, that it makes it impossible to classify them without creating a complicated and cumbersome directory-like structure. Instead, Feedest relies on the members assigning keyword-tags to the feeds. When different members use same tags to mark various feeds, these keywords create instant cross-references allowing other members to find more feeds related to the topic.

Pinging a feed isn't the same as pinging a blog.

FeedPing.com is the brainchild of Matthew Stephens and Joey Mazzarelli. they started the site to fulfill a need for many of the new RSS developers who didn't own blogs. They believe that RSS is the future of Internet content syndication and felt obliged to help get the feeds out to the masses.

Pinging a feed isn't the same as pinging a blog. Pinging a feed simply submits the feed to all the feed directories so that it will begin to track the syndication.

How will this increase traffic to my feed?
Submitting to the directories will allow people to find your feed easier and thus increase subscribers and traffic to your site.

What's the difference between this site and other ping sites?
Other ping sites are for blogs, not feeds. They are meant to update blog directories with your latest entries. This site is meant to submit your feed once to all the feed directory sites and have them track your updates automatically.
